VLWA Rain Barrel Project
The Virginia Lakes and Watersheds Association (VLWA) will be sponsoring the installation of rain barrels across the state in an effort to reach the average home owner who wants to help with reducing impacts of impervious surface from their home. Reducing runoff to storm drains helps clean our waterways and improve base flow for aquatic resources. Beginning in 2017 the VLWA will sponsor the first 20 applications for assistance. Purchase and installation of the rain barrel is up to the homeowner. The VLWA will provide reimbursement once installation is completed. Reimbursement is capped at $100 per rain barrel and 2 rain barrel reimbursements requests for a home.
