Rainwater harvesting on Virginia projects is often overlooked and grossly underutilized. There are tremendous benefits in meeting current stormwater regulations for both phosphorus removal and run-off reduction. Virginia’s 2023 was one of the driest on record and once again we hear mention of terms such as scarcity and mandatory conservation. We will review the basics of rainwater harvesting and then look at multiple real-life projects where harvesting is being implemented. Upon completion, attendees will have a better knowledge of the necessary components needed for successful rainwater harvesting and learn more about how they might consider implementation into their future projects.
