As a continuation to 2021 UPDATE-PHASE iii OF THE CHESAPEAKE BAY WATERSHED IMPLEMENTATION PLAN, AGRICULTURAL SECTOR GOALS AND ACTIONS – PART I we will review the direction that the Virginia Agricultural Cost Share (VACS) program has taken to achieve our WIP III goals. The WIP III requirements include structures designed to manage concentrated animal waste. This past year the Soil and Water State Board has approved the suggestions from the Department of Conservation and Recreation and the state Technical Advisory Committee, to offer four new practices specifically targeting concentrated manure management. We will review the four new practices introduced to the VACS program this year and how they will be used to meet out WIP III goals.
