Remote Monitoring on Virginia Soil and Water Conservation District Dams - Part 3 (You Can't Handle the Data!)

Virginia Soil and Water Conservation Districts received funding for the installation of remote monitoring equipment.  The current monitoring network consists of 64 installed units, 33 units waiting for installation.  This presentation will discuss the various challenges faced when managing and using the data collected.


Author Bio

Charles received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Kentucky in 1997.

He is a licensed Professional Engineer in Kentucky and Virginia.

Charles worked in the Private Sector for 18 years prior to joining the Department of Conservation & Recreation; Soil and Water Conservation Division in 2016 as the District Dam Engineer. As the District Dam Engineer, Charles is the Engineer of Record for 104 Soil and Water Conservation District Dams and 11 State Park Dams.
