Fairfax County’s dam safety program recently identified a localized wet area on the downstream slope of Lake Barton, one of the County’s state regulated dams which was originally constructed in 1978.  This presentation will cover the steps taken by the County to monitor, investigate, evaluate, and develop remediation plans to address the wet spot, replace aging toe drain infrastructure on the dam, and install piezometers to enhance future monitoring capabilities.
