The Historical Development of a Reliable System of Water Supply for the City of Norfolk

The City of Norfolk began development of a public water supply in the latter half of the 19th Century  when the population was centered around what is now known as Downtown Norfolk.  Over the course of almost 150 years, the boundaries of the City have changed and the demand for a safe, reliable drinking water system has expanded to meet those needs.  This presentation will highlight the changes that have occurred over time and how the City of Norfolk is able to supply safe drinking water to it’s one million customers.
